Wildcards

Wildcards have DOS look for a file with certain specifications.

There are two type of wildcards: ? and *

? - This wildcard searches for a character that is in the place of the question mark.
* - Searches for any set of characters starting at the specified position within the name or extension and continuing to the end of the file name or extension.

EXAMPLES:
C:\DIR MS?.EXE - Would return msD.exe.
C:\>DIR MSD.* - Would return msd.EXE.

EXAMPLES ONLY WORK IF YOU ARE IN THE DOS DIRECTORY
